Open Sessions

If you're interested in preparing a paper to present, you can check here to see sessions that others have already proposed, and tailor your paper to fit it.


It is not necessary however to have a session picked out for your paper, though. Just use the submit tab at the top, and fill out the form with your abstract.




  • On Le Jeu du Robin et Marion. A session on the French pastorelle as a game.
  • Sex and courting as games in Robin Hood. This can reference Robin Hood stories from any era.
  • Humor in the outlaw tales resulting from its gamefulness. I think the title is self-explanatory.
  • Games & Play in Old Norse, Icelandic, or Celtic outlaw traditions. In other words, Robin Hood analogues from surrounding and influential cultures.
  • On Russell Crowe's Robin Hood. On the most recent Robin Hood movie.
  • The Gests of Robyn Hood: New Texts and Contexts. This is focused on Tom Ohlgren's fantastic new collection.
